Everything You Need to Know About the 2019 Spring Parade of Homes

The Parade of Homes is a twice-annual home building and design showcase taking place in both the spring and the fall. It features a panel of three out-of-area judges who score on aesthetics, functionality, individual living spaces, construction quality, and more. The judges have an allotment of points for each category, and the homes with the highest scores are given first place Platinum awards or second place Gold awards in each category. For a home to qualify, the builder must be a member of the MCBIA, and must have a walk-through model available. The price points may range anywhere from $200,000 and up, and in this year’s parade, there are several homes in the $1 million range.

This spring, we will be entering our Sebastian VI model featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage. This is one of four Sebastian models available, each with a split floor plan and many available options. Sebastian models feature raised 9’-4” ceilings with cathedral ceilings throughout the great room, dining room, kitchen, and nook. The large, open kitchen includes a breakfast nook and multiple layout options including a large island or a raised bar top. This fall, we will be entering our Sebastian VI model featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage. Sebastian models feature raised 9’4” ceilings with cathedral ceilings throughout the great room, dining room, kitchen, and nook.

The 2020 Fall Parade of Homes will be open from 11am to 5pm on the following dates:

Floor plans ranged from 1,600 square feet to upwards of 4,000 square feet, providing variety in the types and price ranges of homes offered. The Grand Award went to “The Richmond” by Center State Construction Inc. “The Richmond” offered 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a 3 car garage, providing over 3,200 square feet of living space. With attractive wood ceilings, gourmet kitchen, spa master bath and a 4th bedroom that was large enough to be used as a bonus room, it won the judges over. This year’s event included 21 builders and 31 home entries, an increase from last year. New home construction has also shown an increase in the last two years, and some predict new homes will continue to increase in 2015. Mortgage rates also continue to stay in the lower range, making it more appealing to those considering building a new home. Last month, The Marion County Building Industry Association held the 2015 Spring Parade of Homes. Curington Homes is proud to display our Sebastian VI model home in Ocala, Florida’s 2021 Spring Parade of Homes.

In 2019, we were among the forty homes and four community entries that were judged, and our Sebastian VI took home the first place Platinum Award.
